Andre Feriante
Andre's life has been music, his passion, the guitar. He was born in Italy, where his journey with the Spanish guitar began. It took him to South America and later to Spain to study in a private masterclass with Andres Segovia in 1983. Live performance has been Andre's sole profession for the past 40 years, playing in the Northwest and internationally. Andre is the founder of the Whidbey Island Guitar Festival.

In late 2016 Andre moved to Langley and the beauty of the Island began to inspire his photography of nature, people, his dog, guitars and diecast toy cars. He was buying some toys as gifts and by chance picked a little toy car at Rite Aid in Freeland. On a whim, in the Rite Aid parking, he lot decided to see if he could make the car look real. He became fascinated with forced perspective photography. Many people use great cameras, sets and props, but Andre likes to keep it simple with just his iPhone and nature. The challenge is to place the car on a believable surface, use the sky as a backdrop and create the illusion that the toy is an actual car.
