Ginny O'Neill Garners Top Awards at County Fair!

Award-Winning Artworks Gallery Watercolorist Ginny O’Neill
Garners Top Awards at July 2022 Whidbey Island County Fair!

Award-winning watercolorist Ginny O'Neill received top awards at the Fine Arts Division of the Whidbey Island Fair; Best of Show, Best of Watermedia, and 3rd place People's Choice award sponsored by Casey's Crafts. Ginny is a representational artist and considers her art a form of portraiture, whether she's painting a boat, a barn, or a bird. She says, "I've painted solely in watercolor for the past 18 years. I absolutely love the process; to me there's no point if you don't love the process. Although my work is quite detailed, I'm seduced by the random magic of watercolor – I like to follow the accidental patterns that so often develop. My process is time-consuming and involves glazing, wet-into-wet, dry brush, and scrubbing out. I paint the Pacific Northwest landscape because it is what I know and love. I've also become a passionate wildlife artist. I will move from landscape to waterscape to wildlife to portraits (mostly dogs and children). I love them all."
