About Jaclyn Miller, Scrap Wood Designs

I love color and I love working with my hands. I prefer wood to canvas because of the different varieties of wood and grain and aroma each wood type has. I also like the heavier weight of the end product.

My husband and I operate our business building custom wall art out of our home. We love being able to be with our two boys creating our art and being a family.

I use both new and reclaimed wood. Most of the reclaimed wood comes from local sources, either from Whidbey or other islands in the area. We use wood from old fences, decks, house siding, and flooring. We have a few sources that provide us with a nice selection from time to time. We also get scraps from other wood workers or cabinet makers, which is how we got our name “scrap wood designs”.
