About Tim Welsh
Bio
Born and raised in Seattle, I have had the good fortune to grow up surrounded by the area's beauty. My career took me away from the Northwest, and I lived in the heartland of the country for more than thirty years, working in product development and manufacturing. I am excited to return to the Northwest and live each day immersed in the rhythm of island life. Education – University of Washington, BFA in Industrial Design and Metal Design Artist Statement My art reflects subjects and scenes that we see every day in nature. I am attracted to the play of light, shadow, pattern, and wonder. The linocut printmaking process has inspired and challenged me to transform the detail of my subjects into strong graphic images. I hope my interpretation of the subjects resonates with you, as they have all brought me joy in creating them. I believe there is beauty everywhere we call home, and choosing to pause and truly experience it brings richness to our lives. Now living on Whidbey Island, I hope to share more of my art vision as it captures emotions and thoughts that I don’t have the words to express |
