About Loren Iwerks
Born on an island, and have traveled the entire island. Worked as a “Rock Star Wannabe”, then as a Photocopier Tech, then Robot/Photocopier Psychologist for a manufacturer, now on the staff of the Siamese Ambassador to Whidbey Island. I also do art sometimes, when the Ambassador can spare me. If you are buying the drinks, I can possibly be induced to sing “The Siamese Cat Song”. I am also the Senior Chief Engineer for Morgan Bell’s glass studio and kilns. (For this, I get to sleep with her from time to time.)
I work primarily in ink/pointillism and ink/brush, but I also enjoy vandalizing paper products with watercolors, pencils, technical pen, and spilled coffee and/or tea. I was diagnosed ADD long, long ago, so you will probably find that my creations are all over the map as far as subjects and techniques. My first art training was in crayons. By the seventh grade I was specializing in pencil drawings of monsters driving hot cars. By high school I was specializing in driving HS art teachers out of education. By college, my art teachers were focused on driving me out of the educational system. |
