About Gaylen Whiteman 
The complex variety and  co-dependence of all plants and animals, the forces of nature that shape the land and sea, and how these relationships affect our lives amaze me and inspire my art.  I seek to go beyond realism to suggest the unseen mystery of intertwining life on earth as I attempt to convey the heart, beauty, spirit and connection of our natural world.  Lately I have been creating art to depict the perils affecting some of our endangered species, and the forces of nature as they impact our lives.
